How To Maintain Your Football Goal
Share
Most of the goals in the Progoal range are virtually maintenance free, however with a little effort you can keep your goal looking in pristine condition.
Cleaning your goal
Goal frames: A plastic frame will look all the better after the winter period after a good clean. Wipe the frame down with a damp cloth and soapy water and then rinse with water.
This also applies to painted aluminium and steel frames. Any chipped paint can be repaired with a rust-resistant touch up paint.
Goal nets: Shake off any leaves and loose mud. The net can be soaked in soapy water to clean off the worst of any muddy patches.
Portable goals have the advantage that they can be folded down quickly and stored away. During prolonged periods where the goal is not in use, we would advise to do this.
Maintenance
Connections: Our range of Progoals are fitted with locking parts. Ensure that all joints are still secure and that the locking buttons are in place. If your goal has them tighten any screws that may have come loose.
Broken parts: Check your goal for broken parts. These should be replaced to maintain the integrity of the goal.
Nets: One issue that customers can encounter with nets is Foxes chewing through the twine. If this is an issue in your area, we would advise that the goal nets are clipped up off the ground when not in use.
Ensure that the net has no damage. Replacement nets can be purchased for all the goals in our range.
Ground anchors should always be used with your goal. These can either be metal u-shaped ground anchors for use on grass surfaces or sandbags for use on hard surfaces. Check that these are in place and ensure that they are keeping the goal in position.
